8th Annual Northern Colorado Veteran’s Day Celebration

Please place this date on your calendar. Mr. Gus Lee, from Fort Collins, is a well known lecturer on character, leadership and ethics including frequent lectures at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY. The theme of our event, and Mr. Lee's presentaton, is "Continue the Call". As Veterans, we look forward to hearing what he has to say about that.
The event will be held at Faith Evangelical Free Church at 3920 South Shields Street in Fort Collins beginning at 9:00 AM with juice, coffee and morning goodies. The program will begin at about 10:30 AM with lunch served at 11:00 AM. You may register for the event by clicking the Event Registration button at the top of this page. Last Year's Event
November 6, 2010 at Faith Evangelical Free Church
On Saturday, November 6, 2010, we held our 7th Annual Veteran’s Celebration sponsored by Christ Center Community Church, Dayspring Christian Church, Faith Evangelical Free Church, Good Shepherd Chapel, St. Peter’s Anglican Church and Timberline Church.
We honored the Veterans of the Gulf War, the Iraq War and the Afghanistan War. We also specially recognized 11 World War II Veterans. Pastor Richard Foth, Timberline Church served so ably as Master of Ceremonies. Heather and Brian Ivers were featured speakers. Brian has been deployed to the Middle East on three occasions with the Marine Corps Reserves including to the Gulf War and the Iraq War. Heather has not only survived those deployments with their children but has counseled other families of deployed Reserves. Their presentations were sobering and inspiring. They are bright examples of the heroic nature of our Military Service Members and their families today!
We saw a short DVD segment of Chaplain Doug Mikkelsen who was deployed with the Army Reserves in Afghanistan during our event. He showed us some snippets of the Army Camp including his office and the Chapel. We were graced with wonderful Music by the Vocal Octet and the Master’s Brass Quintet from Faith Evangelical Free Church. Most of all, it was simply fun to rub shoulders with other Veterans and friends of Veterans.
